Execution:
Standing inside a squat rack, place the bar at the base of the neck on top of the traps. Back out, then squat down, keeping your chest up and core tight. Pause at the bottom when your thighs are parallel to the ground, then ascend, driving upward until you reach the starting position. The body position for high bar squats will be more erect than a normal barbell squat due to change in bar position. Sitting back into the squat will be more difficult, but more tension is put on the quads.
